It is ESA Ready and I have it configured as such. My Understanding is that I'm in for a pleasant surprise when I install The Phenom II 940 processor, from all the reviews. I have Flashed The Bios Twice When Upgrades were announced by MSI with no problems. Cons: None, My First Build since 1998 and it has worked out perfect except taking some hits on price cuts. from Newegg.com Good performance and can run DDR2 1066 stable with AMD2+ processors unlike similar ASUS boards, but requires changes in BIOS. Future upgradable to AM3 with a BIOS Flash Upgrade. Cons: First Borad died at approximately 1 month but MSI promply replaced it. Total pain to flash BIOS. from Newegg.com Pros: Aesthetically I love this board and its looks had a lot to do with why I bought it. I have owned MSI motherboards before and never had any reason to doubt their quality and still don't. With this board you have plenty of options in the bios to personalize to your needs. from Newegg.com He was elated with the build I did for him. This board was absolutely fantastic, when it worked. Cons: worked for about 2 months, then started slowing down, crapped out, tried to do an advanced RMA from MSI and they would not do it at any cost! This is a mission critical CPU and I now have second thoughts about MSI... from Newegg.com Pros: Lots of features. No problems with X-fi install. Bios update was handled by MSI liveupdate so processor was recognized appropriately. Cons: I have to agree the placement of the fan power jacks is a bit odd but overcome with all the additional cables provided. from Newegg.com Save yourself the aggravation and just plan on buying a new out of the box sound card to have sound approx. an additional $30 (lame). Other Thoughts: I'll probably will not buy MSI again as I had to RMA 2 of these to Newegg (btw Newegg rocks!) first one had no video and the red leds had no explanation any where not even from MSI tech support. Arrived with bent chipset radiator, but no damage at all to inneror outer box (manufacturing defect? That does not give me muchconfidence in MSI). Other Thoughts: I had it running for about 1 week with OpenSolaris 2008.11. from Newegg.com Pros: Board layout DOES take into account the 200 series cards from Nvidia. The heat sink work well and looks great. BIOS did not recognize my Phenom 2 quad but once windows was installed BIOS update through MSI was very easy and effective. Easy to overclock!! from Newegg.com Pros: I do this for a living and this board is a breeze. Layout problems are due to inexperience not MSI. The best way to do an install is the bare minimum of extras. from Newegg.com I have an NZXT tempest case was putting it into with a BFG 650 watt PS. Had to cut and extend some wires that were preventing me from installing grafic cards. while not MSI's amd really needs to put a locking mech. on cpu to prevent cpu coming out with heatsink fan. from Newegg.com
