Pros: This DG45FC is a sweet motherboard with 4 SATA ports, 1 eSATA port, and HDMI and DVI ports. It is excellent for a small footprint media PC. from Newegg.com Pros: G45 chipset with the X4500HD, which works great for everything except gaming. It has plenty of SATA ports, especially for a mini-ITX. Overall a great board, and being Intel it should be very stable. Cons: The Southbridge gets too hot. from Newegg.com Pros: The board works great hardware-wise. Cons: Suspend does not work on 2.6.28,2.6.30 kernels. from Newegg.com ***WILL*** work in Chenbro ES34069 case (despite other review). IR support. Cons: Comes with OLD BIOS, ICH gets VERY hot, stock HSF's tend to flex the board, expansion is by way of a PCIe x1 port (they should've been able to do x16 or at least x8). Can't find easy IR support for the board, will likely have to build my own rx/tx unit. from Newegg.com Pros: Got this about 6 or 7 months ago threw it together with an Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor, and 4 gigs of gskill ddr2 800 pc6400F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ. Cannot display 1440x900 and a few other modes. Idle ower consumption slightly higher than Nvidia itx board. This heatsink fits nicely and has a backplate you can easily bend to fit around that chip:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835230006don't use the stock intel heatsink w/o a backplate as it tweaks the hell out of the board Other Thoughts: I added a heatsink to the ICH since intel's temp monitor reported it running just barely under the "yellow" zone. The heatsink keeps it well into the green. from Newegg.com Cons: BIOS reports chipset as running at 80c+ which is simply not true. I assure you it was running over 175f I wouldn't be putting my fingers on it! Other Thoughts: Purchased this board to build a new HTPC. I use WinXP MCE 2005 and it works just fine. The GMA X4500HD is what made me pick this board over a similar Zotac board. Having LGA775 on a Mini ITX board is great, pick your CPU instead of being stuck with an Atom or a VIA C7 which aren't up to the task of an HTPC, IMO. from Newegg.com Pros: All the hardware for media center is there. The HD is unbelievable GREAT!I have it hook up to a Panasonic 42' Plasma TV. Make sure you install the Intel Drivers whic came with the board.
