fantastic board, matched it with an intel duo 3.0 processer and 4 gigs of kingston 800mhz ram with xp media,and an bgf nvidia 7900 with 512 ram, runs like a dream, no problems running all my games glitch free !! from Compusa.com Intermittent problems with SATA. Feature thin BIOS with lots of options that don't do much. Other Thoughts: After building over a hundred PCs, this is my first Intel board. Cons: The board had to be replaced by Intel as it would not report any board monitoring parameters except the CPU temps. Other Thoughts: There are probably a lot better boards available but for the price it is a good buy. from Newegg.com Other Thoughts: I used this motherboard to build a VMWare ESXi box. It works great with ESXi. However, I first loaded Linux on it and noticed that it wasn't detecting the Intel VT support of the quad core Q9650 I had plugged into it. It's been in use constantly for 3 days, doing heavy professional wedding videos, is lightning fast, capture and rendering causing no problems or delays. Intel has the quality for this type use, I haven't found it in other boards I have used. Cons: Not really a con, but a consideration. from Newegg.com I've used one of these in a media center PC (Vista 64), and recently bought another for a pre-teen's machine (Windows 7-64) Both function perfectly well for their purposes. Fan speed control makes for a relatively quiet machine, except at the very lowest speeds, where the duty cycle pulses on the 3 pin headers produce an annoying sound, at least with the fans I've tried. Cons: Can't find the consumer Ir kit which is advertised on the papers in the box, and on Intel's web site. Two problems with this one: I run XP on it, and it was defective. Intel obviously did not think this thru - they included the floppy diskette, but not FD controller. if you have Vista, you don't need the floppy; if you use XP, you have use the floppy - but can't. from Newegg.com Pros: A quality Intel product that I'm sure will last forever just like all the others I have built over the years.
