Pros: *socket AM3*it is running Cons: Ram incompatibility or motherboard flaw, it will not run my ram in dual channel or atleast in the number 1 slot or number 3 slot. The voltage increments are .05 I did not like this, .025 is better.
Pros: - Plenty of USB connectors- overclocked my Amd 720 to 3.2 gig without upping the voltage. I'm happy right here- Works well with my Pi-series G-kill low latency DDR2.
Pros: -Small in size-4 RAM slots-An actually decent integrated soundcard-Durable, Forgiving on mistakes-Drivers come with easy to use over-clocking programs Cons: -PCI slots get covered up by having a big graphics cards in your PCI-Express.-Power light is red, I wanted blue, lol Other Thoughts: Despite some of the other reviews I find the Biostar TA790GXE very reliable. First off it's very forgiving.
Cons: "Smart" fan control is horrible. It spins up for increased activity, but won't spin back down. One problem is that I don't remember this being the case, but it seems that this has become more pronounced...maybe something is going bad on the motherboard. I *hate* fan noise, so this is a big issue for me.
Pros: 4+1 Phase CPU VRM (with LED load indicators) and 2 phase memory VRM, using HP solid capacitors/MOSFETs give good stable power to 125W or lower AM2+ / AM3 CPUs; perfect match to the 95W Phenom II x4 945 offered as a combo deal. The simple aluminum chipset heat sinks do an excellent job of cooling provided your case has a side fan or two blowing on them. I have a much more expensive Gigabyte 790X mobo using fancy heat pipe chipset cooling and this Biostar keeps these chips much cooler. Cons: This Biostar's AMI BIOS is a bit more complcated than the typical AWARD BIOS but if you take your time you should get used to it.
Pros: Bought Last night for 94.99 and looks to be a solid mobo Cons: Newegg drops the price to 79.99 the next day
Pros: Bought this with the AMD processor combo. Installation was a snap.
Other Thoughts: Too bad... I really liked this board at first and expected it to give at least several years of decent service. Don't think I'll try Biostar again.
Pros: Easy layout. Reset and power buttons just in case of problems on the board. Cons: No Crossfire, but it is a Micro ATX so I can't complain.
Pros: Easy to install... full featured...
Micro ATX, Compatible Processors: AMD Athlon 64, AMD Sempron, AMD Athlon 64 FX, AMD Athlon 64 X2
