Pros: # Features (three PCI-E slots, dual Marvell Ethernet)# Stable# Liked the power/reset buttons & especially the temp display on the board# Simple (non flashy) software OC tool that looks like a licensed CPU-Z with some addons# Compatible with some S775 coolers (see cons)# Great fan speed control for all three headers# OC’d to 3.5 GHz with very little effort Cons: # Takes 36 seconds to post even at stock; power cycles itself once during the startup process (“this is is clockgen to switch modes, and part of normal bios operation on this mobo”)# Socket 775 cooler mounting holes slightly rotated (my cooler blocked the 4th DIMM slot)# Poor printed manual (full version available online) I don't need a manual for most of what I buy, but when putting together a new machine, it does usually help# Cost# Realtek audio# Not well thought out OC hardware addon (it just floats around in the case?)
Pros: - Looks great.- Currently the best P55 board for overclocking. 12+2-phase analog PWM (3-phase for the memory), two 8-pin CPU power connectors, a 4-pin molex connection near the PCI-E slots for the video cards, awesome BIOS features.- Can run two way SLI with a dedicated PhysX card (x8/x4/x8), or just two way CrossFireX.- Compatibility with LGA 775 and LGA 1156 heat sinks.
First board I've owned that finally ditched the old IDE connectors. Layout is perfect for any video card or RAM. eVGA ELeet software can monitor temps and CPUID data. Cons: Two complaints, one small and one big.
Pros: Fan headers everywhere you need them. XMP profile picked up my 2000mHz dominator GT.
Just that during Post it beeps multiple times. Even though I heard this is normal. Also why does every other time I turn on my computer the motherboard will shut down for about 2 seconds? Other Thoughts: Great board, Evga is a great company, with a easy to use web site.
Pros: I really like this EVGA ForTheWin board. The sleek black and gray look just grows on you or is the winking red EVGA light at the old NB location.
Unbelievable, how this small audio cable made my system crumble. Cons: Now only 2 cons left:1) Low memory compatibility. But that is to be expected from LGA 1156. Not an EVGA fault.2) Somewhat slow support responses.
Pros: its a fast board Cons: overclocking is a royal pain, due to poor product support. evga raves about overclocking this board, but provide absolutely no useful information about bios post codes, or bio settings. i can find no documentation anywhere to help me understand some of the more advanced settings.
Pros: Lots of features. Cons: Price
has a CMOS reset button on the back panel near the audio jacks and the board has plenty of case fan jumper pins. There is an included flexible SLI bridge and the USB and FireWire pins are easily accessible when running two large video cards unlike older Nvidia reference boards. Cons: ATX 2.91 means I have to upgrade my power supply which was ATX 2.1. I tried to run this board on my old power supply and the power supply blew out and died with a plume of smoke one start-up.
The EVGA P55 FTW Edtion is built with the Intel P55 Express Chipset, supporting the Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i5 processors in the LGA1156 package.
