the hp 2475w is a very good monitor for photo editing provided that you calibrate it properly.
after using this monitor for photo editing, then looking at my samsung tn (226bw) beside it, i now understand why ips is the panel for accuracy.
now, as to the monitor itself, i use it primarily for business not for gaming or professional photo editing, though i do tinker with photography.
we use this monitor for heavy-duty photoshop photo editing and it's great.
i'm a professional photographer looking for an inexpensive widescreen, and i'm happy with the product as delivered.
other thoughts: unless you are a professional photographer or graphic artist that will spend well over $1000.00 on a monitor just buy it you will not be sorry.
to find a better general purpose monitor at any price.even though it uses a tn lcd panel, you can adjust the color balance so it does a passable job on photo work for all but the most demanding jobs.
as is common with all other tn monitors this monitor is not suitable for photo realistic editing and the vertical viewing angle must be adjusted precisely.
i'm a semi-pro digital photographer.
prossharp clear picture and colors, no dead pixels, great looks, great price, easy setup consnothing major, but refresh rate adjustability in widescreen would be nice...not critical...but nice
i don't do serious photo editing and can't really tell apart from true/natural colors, but for me it doesn't matter.
if i was heavy in to photography i would spend the money on an apple.
dynamic contrast mode is wonderful for gaming and viewing photo's / videos.
first off, this is a tn panel and probably isn't ideal or photo or video editing.
*not recommended for photo for video work
other thoughts: i do high end photographs and graphics and this monitor is preforming great - easy to color match with photo printing.
other thoughts: i use it for photo editing, graphic design and gaming.
not really a con..this works great for photoshop, but it is still a bit "off" for viewing angle.
i did a test print on my epson 7600 from photoshop and the print was dead on.
when i pulled up some photos in photoshop on this screen and filled up that huge screen i was blown away.
my wife does a lot of work with photo's and loves the monitor.
if you're looking for a main display to do photoshop work on, this isn't it.
i've used it for word processing, ppt and photoshop, as well as for watching movies & tv shows on itunes.
having this much screen real estate for photoshop is a dream come true and working with such a vivid and accurate display is awesome.
there is some "tearing" when using photoshop, but i'm not sure if that's the monitor's fault or my video card as i upgraded both at the same time.
this monitor will be strictly used for gaming, no photo work.
it especially makes a difference when viewing photographs.
and theres 10,000 goofy kids on the internet that might use a hacked version of photoshop once a month that complain that "tn panels are no good for colors"dont listen to kids on the internet.
if you do a bit of everything, including some graphics and photography, this will do just great..
i use it as a dual monitor especially for photo applications and it is great for that.
it makes our photos look clear and bright.
i'm not a programmer and video/photo editing is only done occasionally (just family stuff), but there is something to be said about the convenience of two screens.
everything is brighter, colorful and i can't wait to run photoshop on it once my phenomii x4 build is complete.
neither is it ideal for serious photo editing works due to color shifts in various view angles.
cons: if you do anything that requires proper color display like photoshop, then you need to pass on this one, but fine for web and movies.there is a pinkish huge to the display, was able to correct
when i purchased this particular monitor, it was selling for around $140 usd, and i read some reviews about how it is only decent (on a scale of horrible/lame/decent/good/great/excellent) for doing
oh, and this is super cool....i plugged it into my hackintosh, (10.5.6) and opened photobooth a couple ticks later, and voila, it worked perfectly!
i run maya on this big beast and run photoshop/gimp on the smaller 17" monitor that i have.
by others and, actually, i can't even understand why somebody that is looking to do high-detail intensive graphic or photo work would even think they could get that from a $300.00 26" tn panel.
listen, i do a lot of work in photoshop and my photos have never looked better than on this display.
higher than average resolution for games and photo editing.
and i use it to check how photos i re size on the big imac look on a smaller screen.
makes my photos look great, i see things in my pictures that i didn't before on my old monitor.
if you are in to graphics of any kind, like digital photo editing or gaming you might want to consider the hp lcd.
used in a home office setup to work with digital photos.
like i said we only use it for games but i couldn't use it for photoshop or anything i need clarity to perform fine details.
editing digital photos is really nice with this monitor.
its a tn panel but i'm using it for gaming, computing/browsing and blu ray not any kind of video/photo editing.
i would not recommend this monitor for serious photo editing.
other thoughts: i am a professional photographer (so color reproduction & true tone is very, very important to me) working on a budget & for the money you really can't beat this monitor.
i would highly suggest this to anyone doing web design or photo work.
other thoughts: this would be a good monitor for general use, but the color/brightness shift makes it not-so-great for photo editing or other color-sensitive work.
i didn't really see any issue with the blacks that someone noted in another review, but since i edit photos quite a bit i noticed a significant difference from my laptop monitor (obviously).
no burned pixels, perfect second monitor for photoshop and premier pro editing.
some may like that but i'm a photographer so it's important for my monitors to look the same as the prints.
i just love to stare at my screen now and look at various digital photos and high quality wallpaper, etc.
performance.) before i had this, i used viewsonic vga monitor for photoshop and indesign.
price was great $229.00 colors are fairly accurate for use with photo editing and graphics software.
other thoughts: i used paint.net freeware to help with getting my photoshop photos at full screen for the monitor's native resolution of 1920x 1080.
