the topic regarding dark scenes in movies or in games; i think it depends on your viewing angles and the in-game gamma settings or something, but i find the black is a true black, unless i tinker

other thoughts: at first you'll notice more brightness than usual, this can easily be fixed by lowering your gamma just a little bit till you think it looks normal.
