i really notice that the blacks are actually blacks.hdmi input if you want it for console gamesusb on the screen (also a con, see below) cons: the power button is just a touch sensitive zone.
they're not that noticeable but they're there.the power button is touch sensitive and if the rooms dark it can be kind of difficult to figure out where you have to put your finger to get it to turn on
panel barely uses any power, menu easy to navigate with some decent built in auto features if you're too lazy to set contrast/brightness/color saturation yourself.
i love the touch sensitive power button and the auto source.
the power led brightness can be adjusted and even turned off.
my crt went to my 2nd rig, and it looks like doodoo now compared to my new monitor :( glossy finish attracts fingerprints and dust.the power button is a bit "blue" but you can put a postit or
have you ever heard great sounding speakers built into a monitor without having more than 2 watts of power given to them?
i'd like it to be faster because i'd be willing to turn it off more often to save power.it has a limited ability to display resolutions full screen on its own.
the power light...arrrgh!
a) the blue power led on the front is too bright.
the t240 has a total of nearly twice as many pixels as the typical 19" monitor, so it will require twice the video card power to get the same performance as what you were used to with a 19" monitor.
the power switch is not a button, but a touch-sensitive area of the monitor, making it very easy to turn on.
cool touch power button feature :) cons: none other thoughts: i did not like the lack of a height adjustment feature but when i placed it on the desk it was perfect for me anyway.
2.red led power light blinks when monitor is off, will annoy some
the hint of red in the frame is also a nice subtle touch.the power button is also kind of cool cons: cheap base=screen wobbles a little bit with any kind of motion.
ok, so usually when a monitor (pretty much any monitor) is not being used by the computer, it will go into stand-by mode, which now-a-days is usually represented by an amber led on or near the power
not really a con, but i didn't realize how much more video card power it would take to run games in widescreen.
other thoughts: the front mounted controls and menu are a nice touch, the power button is orange making it less likely to be confused with the other buttons.
get your input cable (vga, dvi, or hdmi) and power cable, plug them in, and it's on.
i bought a 3m adjustable stand for it and am very pleased.clear-red power button is kinda cheez, especially when power-on led is blue.
the speaker are rather powerful for a lcd monitor.the webcam feature is really cool and it even has a security camera feature that can record even with the monitor off since the usb connection is
it still was able to be powered on but no picture was ever displayed, not even the splash logo.
its the wow gaming mouse so it may be relative to the power that thing cranks.
it ran only 30 watts power.
other thoughts: works flawlessly with my dual monitor setup powered by a geforce 7600 gt.
the old crt monitor was over 10 years old and was fading into history not to mention it was huge, hot and took a lot of energy.
the images are bright and clear and it is much more energy efficient that my previous monitor.
i actually 'installed' it (my son-in-law is so proud) and we love the bright colors, space saving convenience and it's energy efficient.
the buttons respond with little to no pressure, and the power led's aren't bright like my work monitor.
the blue power light isn't nearly as horrible as someone else stated - i was expecting a blazing led after reading that, but it's just a light.
if your having this problem then play with your laptops power settings, it fixed my problem.other people complain about the speakers, i agree they arent the best in the world.
the menu buttons are all touch-sensitive, and the power button is very classy.
the sockets on the back, dvi, power etc are easily accessible.
well, to be frank, with 1.5 watt power they barely acceptable as desktop speakers.
the white power led is a nice touch.
i purchased this item as a replacement for a 19" 1280x1024 monitor which was twice as expensive and developed a malfunction in its power switch.
i had my lg 194wt die on me on 11/17/08, called lg up and told them that the monitor no longer powers up, they 2 day aired me a prepaid label, 11/19 label arrived and dhl picked up the monitor, on
blue on the power button isn't overwhelming.
cons: did not come with a dvi cable, only power and vga.
pros: - very vibrant, dark blacks and bright whites- pretty stable stand- great response time- pretty good options selection cons: - makes an annoying noise when you turn it on (but that can be
i also really like the power on and and no signal led on the front of the monitor it is not to bright where it is a distraction.
powered on/standby non-stop.had a stuck pixel (blue), but some of that is to be expected from any monitor, i don't consider that a 'con' and it's very hardly noticeable.
the power on light indicator is very helpful as it changes color depending on the monitor status.i mainly use this monitor for full hd gaming (cod4, assasins creed, mirror's edge...etc), no ghosting.
i cracked this puppy out of its packaging, saw its glossy screen and powered it up to find no backlight bleed and no dead pixels.
on its own, the monitor makes gaming friends' displays look as if they are powered by hamsters in wheels.control/setup: easy.
it is very smart as far as power-saving goes, as well.
super bright blue led power button on front(can get distracting).
some reviewers were complaining about the bright blue power led on the front.
2) the blue power button.
i bought this to use on a powermac g3 because the manual implied it would work without an adapter; maybe on some g3's, but not on mine.
you can turn off the power light when the monitor is on (the light will fade on and off when it turns itself off and this setting cannot be changed) and it has a little manager where you can change
i also appreciate a hardware design that looks as good in standby as it does when powered on.
but you can order one easily for 10-20$, so it's not that big of a deal (but there goes the $20 you saved on the newegg promo!) other thoughts: the power/control buttons are not "real" buttons
buttons can be a hassle sometimes other thoughts: antec 900msi p7n sli-fi mobocore 2 duo e8400 @ 3.0ghz4x 1gb corsair xms22x evga 9800 gtx+ in slizalman 750w power supply2x seagate 250gb hdd
took me a while to realize you touch the actual symbol for power than the tear drop heh.
pretty decently power hungry so it gets pretty warm.
- ability to turn off the led on/standby light (though it does not remember the setting if it looses power).
there is also no annoying heavy power adapter, just a regular power cord that plugs right into the back.
neat little feature - you can turn off the power led - no need for a sharpie fix.
you can turn off the power led in the settings menu.
another tick is the buttons on the side of the screen for power, etc, are not labeled or identified in any way.
pros: -bright picture-excellent color cons: -monitor makes an irritatingly high pitched "humming" sound from the internal power supply.
pros: - nice polished black aesthetic look- light, indirect blue power led- easy to put togetherthis monitor looks very nice.
cons: power button is right next to the menu controls, so if your monitor menu button challenged like me, it could be a problem.
the monitor does not like refresh rates >60hz, and will press the user to reset to 60hz as soon as it powers up.
another one is that i'm careful to touch anywhere but the power button because it leaves finger print smudges...
there is a blue power indicator light (led i assume) below the samsung label at the bottom of the screen two inches wide.
saves power.
no annoying laser powered power indicater.
it has a full 1080p hd energystar monitor.
just put the two pieces of the base together, insert the metal base piece into the bottom of the monitor, take off the back plate and insert your power cable and whatever cable you are going to use
i put the two pieces together; inserted the base piece into the bottom of the monitor, took off the back plate and inserted the power cable and vga cable, and popped the back plate back on.
the samsung toc t260hd 25.5 lcd monitor that i purchased through amazon is beautiful to look at whether powered on or off.
it runs a lot cooler than the samsung 213t which it replaced, and uses less power.
sharp, crisp picture and easy to get up and running (plug in power, plug in choice of cable -vg, dmi or hdmi - and your off and running.
the true power is when you use an hdmi cable.
acer support responded quickly that the dvi cable needs to be plugged in before the computer is powered on (i was trying to switch from the vga to the dvi while i setup the monitor), that solved that
ultimately i had to roll my own custom .inf file for this monitor with the help of powerstrip.
cons: quit working at 2 weeks, looks to be a power supply issue.
