I had never purchased such a pricey small appliance before. I recently had a Kenmore 12-speed handmixer that I loved but finally it died. This KitchenAid handmixer is lighter and much quieter than the Kenmore. from Cooking.com I ordered a 9-spd KitchenAid hand mixer which I thought was great value pricewise only to discover upon delivery that it was a lesser mixer "not the 225-watt mixer" as described in the ad. I find it quite annoying that after confirming via phone the item that I was about to order complies with its 9-spd 225watts description/spec... from Buy.com I like my Kitchen Aid mixer but I can't say that I love it. I like the 9 speed settings but I do not find the top speeds to be fast enough to quickly whip things (such as egg whites) but I do like the powerful lower settings.
