I got this as a gift and I thought the retractable cord was a great feature. My mother-in-law needed a new hand mixer so I bought her this one even though I hadn't used mine because I thought the cord feature was useful and Oster products are typically good. However she used it twice and went back to her old battered mixer because the lowest speed on this one sprays EVERYWHERE!! from Target.com I was in a hurry to replace my old hand mixer and, because of the name "Oster" I bought this mixer. It sure is powerful but I think the slow speed is too fast. from Target.com I ordered an Oster Hand Mixer and after ordering read a review that was not good. I was then sorry I had placed ths order. from Amazon.com I love Oster Brand so thought this would be as good. It isn't. from Amazon.com I liked it the first month (purchased in August) and then I was mixing a cake in September and it shorted out, sparked and the motor burned out. I would not recommend this mixer. OSTER 6sp. HAND MIXER 250 WATTS, RETRACTABLE CORD from Amazon.com There seems to be little difference between low and high speeds. My mom happens to own the same one (we bought them around the same time), and hers has the exact same problem. She spoke with Oster on the phone today, and apparently they've had a lot of complaints about this model. They're sending her a replacement. from Amazon.com this is comparable to the power of a stand mixer. from Amazon.com and it's more powerful and studier than the last one i had. from Amazon.com handles well, appears sturdy and powerful. from Amazon.com excellent power and sounds like a well built powertool. from Amazon.com
