my family of four has lived with a microwave half this oven's size with much less power and no buttons.
one thing that unnerved me a little bit was that we were unable to find this model in any store near us...i wanted to be able to press the buttons, open the door, etc before buying...but no such luck.
minuses: the auto buttons take a little getting used to, like the popcorn button, which left some unpopped kernels.
now you have to keep pressing the button.
the sensor buttons are just great for warming dinner plates, leftovers, or anything you're not sure about the time element.
this oven is so easy to use with the push buttons and also uses a sensor to cook all food so that its not too hot or too cold.
the auto popcorn button works perfect.
in addition to capabilities, the microhood encapsulates this functionality in an intuitive capacitive touchscreen interface with an lcd panel and shortcut buttons.insofar as the interface, much
the kids love it because it does microwave popcorn perfectly, no more guessing and burnt popcorn, one button results!
if i decide at the last minute, i want a baked potato, i just put the potato in the microwave, push the baked potato button and it cooks it to perfection.
and when in doubt there is a add 30 sec button that is simple.
you can melt butter, soften cream cheese, defrost fish, & 100 other things all with a touch of a button.
cons: for every cooking option button there is at least one sub-menu.
i've noticed the plastic, or whatever it is, over the buttons has started to crinkle up and is coming off and that bothers me.
the express cooking buttons make it one step to set it and turn it on!
a lot quicker than any microwavable package says, i would recommend this unit to everyone!!works great and looks great, i especially like the bar to pull it open instead of a button...love it:)
the buttons are large and easy to read, and once you take a look over the instruction manual, you'll basically understand how to use it, not to difficult at all.
on 12/2/06 it's features 10 power levels, 8 preset cooking buttons for cooking normal things like popcorn, potatoes, etc.
60-90 seconds and my leftovers are done; and for the first time, i punched the popcorn button and every kernel popped.
i like the 1-6 min buttons, and the 30-sec addition button.
the only con i've discovered in 3 weeks is that you have to push the buttons rather hard in order to set cooking times and activate.
it displays "p" and all buttons are locked up until you unplug it.
like the buttons on bottom.
having the controls along the bottom makes it easy to see which button i am pushing and to monitor the cooking time.
you can cook, reheat or defrost at the touch of a button.
the timer and clock use the same button for setting (just in a different order) so it's really easy to accidentally set the clock.
turntable has no on/off button, so it is always on, inside is a little smaller width-wise, but still fits 13x9x2 pan ok.
hit the button once for one minute.
well i bought this didnt want to spend too much on a replacement and it works okay but its cheap construction and may not fit in existing holes so you may have to redrill new holes to mount it after
it has plenty of power so you aren't waiting forever for things to heat up and lots of features and one touch buttons for those that need them.
quibbles: sorta noisy & hollow-sounding chassis - door clunks open and clunks closed, some of the touchpad buttons could be larger like the start button, only a single audio signal when done - if you
i was a bit daunted at first by all the buttons and choices, but the prompts are a huge help, and it really wasn't hard to figure out at all, especially considering my old one had barely any options.
this one is even better, more shortcut buttons, more power.
the buttons are quite intuitive.
microwave looks sleek and was only one i could find to fit our shallow shelf.only complaint is that the door has a very sharp corner and when you hit open button it swings out fast.
very easy to use due to few buttons that it has.
we also like the one touch buttons for pre-specified heating times (i.e.
i like the beavrage button that is timed by ounces 4,8,12.
minor annoyances include that the door open button requires a pretty firm push to open the door and the control knob can't be used to select a power level.
pros: fast, sensor heating is fabulous, cooks evenly cons: has push button type door.
the start button on most microwaves also serves as 'add minute' or 'add 30sec', but here it would not do anything - one has to use dedicated 'add minute' button.
you punch a button, it asks you how many steaks you are defrosting or how much popcorn you are popping and it does the rest.convection cooking is new to me, but the manual and recipe booklet that
the only problem is the popcorn button is not set long enough to complete popping the popcorn.
i have used this microwave daily for over 3 years now.alas, today i must now seek a new one.the death of the microwave was due to a short which occurred in the button panel.it is fixable, but given
to get the glass upper-part to stop sliding around and fit firmly.the beverage button gives you a choice of 2 or 4 minutes, and then gives you time to walk away from the microwave before it starts.
this is not a cheap microwave...it has buttons you press for specific time (not a winder upper thing) and it is cute and it works well!!!
it has all the same buttons ( features ) you'd find on a larger expensive model.
pressing the +30 seconds button starts the microwave immediately, and you can continue to add 30 seconds during microwaving.
i also like how the control panel doesn't have elevated buttons making it easy to wipe clean with no chance of food or anything getting stuck in the buttons.
it cooks fast, the button doesnt stick and i could fit a turkey in there if i wanted to.
for one, the display is too small and the buttons are laid out kind of weird.
one concern is in the door button.
the sensor reheat button it just below the stop clear button and very easy to push by mistake.
made popcorn correctly right out of the box, using that specific setting (no other foods have that specific button preset).
panasonic makes a similar model for about $100 more and have yet to find any differences except the color of the led readout and a slightly different button style.
my only complaint is the heaviness of touch required to depress the door latch button/panel.
like the dial to set and no buttons, just touch pads.
only complaint is it is too light, and moves back when you push the buttons.
one button function for most common usages (such as popcorn or reheating a dinner plate).
pressing the start button alone gives you one minute at high.
this microwave worked for a couple of days before the `start' and '9' button stopped working.
one reviewer commented that the buttons seem to quickly wear out.
this model is the replacement model for the one i had and the only difference is that they flipped the touch pad so that the buttons that were on the top are now on the bottom.
pros: stylish, button don't stick cons: stopped working after 12 months, no numbers on the outside, only inside pannel
this arrived with box/packing intact (so it wasn't a shipping issue), but the door was very hard to open, and in fact wouldn't open by the button alone, i had to help it with my other hand.
this microwave oven gets my highest rating even though amazon only allows for five stars the oven is extremely fast and has the largest capacity for the price, also the quietest microwave oven i have
it feels cheap and buttons are hard to press.
with a signal higher than their native resolution.) the remote feels too light in your hand, but really cool universal remotes with lcd screens and backlit buttons can now be had for less than $50.
maybe the remote buttons are a tad on the small side, but very usable.
detailed, highly adjustable picture.cons: cheap remote with poor layout and extremely small buttons.
i had trouble getting it to pop in the 3 minutes allocated to the popcorn button (large bag), it took more like 5.
you can actually just open the door to the oven and press the 'auto button' and not even read the directions...the basic information is on the inside of the door for reference.
filled out a form to let sharp know and the submit button doesn't work.
for example, the salmon steak was lb and i chose lb rather than 1 lb, deciding to err on the side of less cooked, knowing i could use the `minute plus' button to extend time if i wanted to.
cons: too much depth, too slow, lousy toaster (main reason for purchasing it..for a small home)...too many buttons to press for a simple operation, and if u make a mistake, start all over again,
the only cons are that it smudges very easily (common with stainless steel) and when i press the button to open the door, the entire microwave shifts (maybe too lightweight...).
it has many different options, and it tells you what to do everytime you push a button.
the door latch button wouldn't work at all.
