Pros: The stainless steel finish is nice on the MH1170XSY. Cons: The vent is inadequate. from Shopping.com Getting the microwave off the countertop has been awsome. Kitchen space is a premium so over the range really helps. We have all Whirlpool appliances and love them, no problems and easy to use. Apparently this piece of junk was never fixed properly because it broke afer 5 months and then AGAIN in another 5 months. Now Whirlpool washed their hands off claiming we are out of warranty. The most rediculous part is that they thought they were cooperative when they suggested that we keep paying the diagnostic fee for a technitian to come in to us every five months (the problem is obviously recurring, so that would be going on until we finally get fed up I imagine), while they in turn would keep sending us the replacement part for "free". from Amazon.com Bought this for a rental house in the end of 2007. Stopped working about two months ago. I called Whirlpool and was told to have authorized service dealer for repair. The repairman said that the blower motor needed replaced and that parts and labor came to $360. from Amazon.com We have had it 3 months and the heat just quit but it runs. I will call service but I have been reading online that Whirlpool is notoriously bad.
