It's a small gadget for your Olympus recorder to reduce the background noise. I experienced a little of clarity of the recorded voice with the noise-canceling microphone. from Pricegrabber.com You'd think this would be pretty good (because it bares the "Olympus" name), however, it didn't work, right out of the box! I use it with my Olympus WS-100 to take notes which I then save to my computer and import it into Dragon Naturally Speaking version 9 Preferred which then produces a Microsoft Word document. I speak into the microphone from about 2 inches away and am really careful with my diction and pronunciation because there is just a little bit of distortion if you over drive it. from Amazon.com I married this mic to the Olympus WS-200S Digital Voice Recorder, which by the way plays in stereo.
