Pros: Frees up your music better than the rest Cons: Could be a bit more polished in navigation The Bottom Line: Can't beat it at the price.
I absolutely love the Roku SoundBridge. I love it so much that I have three of them: One M1001 and two M500s.
When the workhorse Sony CD jukebox died in 2006, I went looking for a PC-based solution and found the M1000. Enjoyed it so much at the main music system that I purchased a second for the Master BR that also feeds outdoor speakers.
This was my first Wi-Fi radio, and I didn't know quite what to expect. All I did was enter my WEP code (security code for my wi-fi network that you get off the router setup page) it connected right away and started streaming internet radio!
This is a great product for anyone who wants internet radio without a computer. It looks good; it's easy to install (at least, with a Linksys wrt54g router); and it's easy to use. I would say I'm reasonably network/PC savvy, but I'm certainly no geek! My only concern is that in standby mode it gets quite hot, even with pretty good airflow.
I recommend this product to anyone that loves music. Good bye dull FM stations!
I've owned this Roku Soundbridge for over 3 or 4 years now, haven't stopped loving it, great interface, elegance and simplicity.
This is a cool little gadget. I finally can listen to the best music again.
Very easy setup and operation. This is exactly what I needed to play my music collection on my computer thru my stereo system. This device is well worth the money.
The only reason that I am back on Amazon tonight is because I need another soundbridge. I LOVE this thing and even though it decided to give up on me tonight and go to the great wireless audio streaming device network in the sky (it just won't power on!), I am still going to order another one.
