If the computer was defective or not I don't know for certain. I couldn't even eject the install DVD no matter what I tried. I find this ridiculous that apple didn't provide a eject button. I received my replacement mac from Amazon, with no issues... from Amazon.com This + PLEX = Heaven. I found out about a FREE, yes, FREE program called "Plex". It was worth buying a mac mini just to use that free program. I have my Mac Mini hooked up to my stereo via the 5.1 Fiber Optic output. from Amazon.com I bought this model from Amazon on September 11, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Everything just seems to work perfectly. The Mac mini recognized my network immediately, all I needed was the VGA adapter which I got from a local electronics store. I bought the 4 GB upgrade for the RAM, but I haven't seen the need to put it in yet. from Amazon.com I've been waiting several weeks to buy one of these. Still showing Leopard, although Apple's been including Snow Leopard with all of their new and refurbished items for several weeks. They are small, energy efficient and perfect for what I need to do: web maintenance, Microsoft Office docs and spreadsheets, some Adobe inDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator work and email and web browsing. from Amazon.com But what I finally tired of is the constant parade of digital hobgoblins that haunt the OS of every PC - viruses, malware, resident update monitors, anti-virus software, etc. All of these things erode and destroy the operating performance of a PC. I purchased this low-end Mac mini because it had the same processor as my PC - and it was cheap. I bought 4GB of Crucial memory, watched the video on YouTube, and effortlessly upgraded the memory to 4GB in about 15 minutes. from Amazon.com I needed a Mac for my software development. This mini fit the bill for a cheap new mac (an oxymoron I know). Still more than I would have liked to pay I wasn't given much of a choice. from Amazon.com I've had a Mac Mini for a week. Mine is different than the one above: it has Snow Leopard (Mac OS 10.6) and 2gigs of RAM (1gig is standard). from Amazon.com Ordered this because my my trusty old Mac 2ghz ppc tower finally gave up after 8 years.
