i'd heard that some people have trouble with the hard case interfering with opening the laptop fully, but i had no trouble opening the laptop up all the way smoothly, fully, and quietly every time.

i received one of the original manufactured items as it had the flaw where one edge was 1-2mm too wide and it caused the lid portion to catch on the base portion when opening.
