THe AC/DC adapter is so much more useful than the standard AC adapter that comes with the Lenovo laptops. I always need more than one adapter and when we decided to travel to Europe and I was faced with extended time in the plane, I bit the bullet and bought this adapter. from Amazon.com The adapter works as advertised, but is VERY annoying. I've used it here at home and in the car. I plan to use it overseas (it is specified to work from 100 to 240 vAC, so it will work in Europe with the necessary plug adapter due to the differences in plug connections, without the power converter unit. from Amazon.com In normal use as an AC adapter, this unit gets quite warm to the touch.
