But, it does the job well. I can now run a Std. DVD player, and DVD recorder and an HD DVD through one of the HDMI inputs on my TV. With the remote, switching between machines is a breeze. from Buy.com I've had this switch for over a year now. I first got it for an older single DVI input HD ready (1080i/720p) set, and the switch passed 1080i and 720p flawlessly from a PS3, HTPC, HD cable box and an upconverting DVD/DVR unit. from Amazon.com I bought this unit so that I would able to control the input with a universal remote control over infrared. Although the specifications indicate it's fully HDCP compliant, I cannot back that claim up. from Amazon.com Pros: does what it says it does... I see ZERO quality loss on the pass through. Cons: the LEDs are very bright Other Thoughts: I did not experience the same issue with the IR that some of the other reviewers did. Actually, quite the opposite. from Newegg.com Cons: Led's are super bright. dosent always shut off. Not hdmi v1.3 compliant. I mainly use to share my LCD monitor which based on DVI. My configuration was OUT HDMI to LCD Monitor 22" LG with 1680x1050 native resolution. IN HDMI from my PC's DVI port is able to get full native resolution (although on the Aluratek box specification does not mention about 1680x1050 resolution, made me worried a little bit earlier after purchase and waiting for shipping). from Newegg.com Pros: -It does exactly what it says; switches 4 HDMI inputs into one... I have it hooked up with various combinations of Link Depot and Sysonic DVI/HDMI cables from PS3/HTPC/DVR and they all look as good as any one of the sources running straight to my HDTV's single input ever did. from Newegg.com Fantastic metal build quality. Cons: No power switch on the front Other Thoughts: I was considering this and the rosewill newegg offers, I'm glad I went with this one, it's metal construction, extremely compact design, and general look fit in perfectly with my entertainment setup.
