directly connecting my monitor via dvi didn't show much improvment over this kvm anyway so i'm very pleased with this kvm as it's surpassed my expectations. from Newegg.com every time i switch over to windows pc, it is as if new usb devices are connected and it take a few seconds for the mouse and keyboard to connect. from Newegg.com handles all video modes i have thrown at it, including strange widescreen modes & modes for dell widescreen display, laptops. from Newegg.com uses the monitor/usb combo cable so it keeps the cables to a minimum, i like the fact that the audio cables are separate as i have 2 servers on this thing and it keeps the number of wires down. from Newegg.com have one older computer that doesn't want to detect usb keyboards and has ps2 connection and it always boots with problems unless it is booted first (foxconn board). from Newegg.com easy set up cons: after i had plugged it all up, i had graphic driver errors on one computer. from Newegg.com sound quality is excellent and works outstanding with my microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse !cons: none !other thoughts: the reason why i bought this was because i went to a store(can't say bb for from Newegg.com this appears to be supplied on the monitor connections, so all monitor inputs must be disconnected to reset, and that can be a royal pain. from Newegg.com other thoughts: so far i have an intel based dell laptop running windows xp and an amd based self-built pc running windows xp working with a vizio 32" 1080p hdtv/monitor using the full 1920x1080 from Newegg.com super-easy setup, worked with my standard usb keyboard and ms intellimouse explorer (5-button model) with no problems! from Newegg.com
