I had this unit plugged into my UPS (plugged into a overload protected power strip). No other components on the circuit were affected. This means the IOGEAR power supply was at fault. This unit would not recognize 3 of 4 computers (using onboard vid or otherwise). I have read that if I spend another $15 for each one I can get a USB video adapter....it already ran me $200 to start with.... Cons: The first unit that I purchased would function fine with resolutions up to 1600 x 1400, but anything above that would have horrible resolution noise with dancing red lines, jittery pixels, and often not show at all. I contacted IOGear about the issue and they were no help at all. The fact that my initial purchase was not only defective but handled so poorly by IOGear makes me take down one egg. from Newegg.com Pros: I have a bunch of computers at home (a powerpc mac, a core 2 quad pc running vista, and a dual-core opteron running linux) and have been on the prowl for a KVM for a while. Switching with the keyboard works well Cons: Wonky keyboard emulation barely works, for awhile. I have had this for 3 months and although there have been occasional glitches it has worked with a Logitech G15 keyboard and MX518 mouse. LIke a previous review said you have to spend another $80 to get the right cables. And even then which is what i did, it still does not work properly. from Newegg.com It's working very well for me in a mixed Windows XP and Mac OS X environment (two Windows machines, one Mac, all using DVI). Cons: Allows you to switch to a port that isn't connected to a computer (no cables installed). The 4-port VGA/USB KVM of the same brand that this thing replaced would skip those ports. Other Thoughts: I'd prefer that the console keyboard and mouse ports were on the back of the unit along with all of the other connections, but that's a pretty small complaint. from Newegg.com Pros: Best desktop DVI USB KVM you can get.
