Best IOGEAR KVM Switches for Ps/2

- with ps/2 ports being phased out, the usb version of this unit (iogear gcs-932u) might be a better way to go.

i have several iogear kvm switches and all of them have worked great.

not so with this iogear kvm!

other thoughts: wish i had seen newegg's offer on the iogear kvm switch a few months ago, before paying $90 for, essentially, the same thing---a kvm switch from aten.

the old kvm i had (also from iogear) used the double scroll key switch which didn't want to work all the time.

(3 year warranty from iogear)nice to be able to hide everything but a small switch button.

iogear also has a similar looking kvm product with a remote switch that i recently purchased as well (see iogear gcs22u 2-port usb kvm switch).

i'll be honest, i actually haven't used it (the gcs42u)yet, but i called iogear tech support because i was having trouble with the i did buy (gcs32u).

this model kvm works with all operating systems, or so i was told by the iogear help desk.

switching over to the iogear unit was very straight forward and on the initial boot up of both pcs (desktop and laptop)everything appeared to be working great.

iogear support indicated it had to do with pc start-up sequencing, and that the monitor ddc information isn't passed through the kvm to the pc at startup.

iogear 942 works as advertised, albeit with the windows/usb re-connect delay.

i use them quite a bit, to mute the speakers, adjust volume, navigate windows etc, a call to iogear tech support says they only support standard 102 key keyboards, and a basic wheel mouse, wtf??

for the money i settled on the iogear gc1782.setup was somewhat of a pia, it wouldn't find second pc then it would loose connection to the first pc.

ie usb 2.0keyboard emulation cannot be turned off because of the hardwired hotkey switching embeded in it.which brings me to my major complaint: iogear use's version 1.0 or 1.1 usb for their kb/mouse

but no information on where to download it, and it's not posted on iogear's website either.
