Best IOGEAR KVM Switches for Input

iogear also has a similar looking kvm product with a remote switch that i recently purchased as well (see iogear gcs22u 2-port usb kvm switch).

i'll be honest, i actually haven't used it (the gcs42u)yet, but i called iogear tech support because i was having trouble with the i did buy (gcs32u).

this model kvm works with all operating systems, or so i was told by the iogear help desk.

intrestingly your hdmi cable yielded more vibrant color than the non-iogear cable which was part of a hook-up kit.

we use iogear products for our kvm switches and we trust the brand cons: none.

iogear was fully working with both.

to make matters worse, i called iogear's advertised "24/7" technical support.

i have my iogear 4 port automatic hdmi switch for over a month.

when i turn on the dvd upconverter, the iogear unit automatically senses the new signal and switches to it.

i use them quite a bit, to mute the speakers, adjust volume, navigate windows etc, a call to iogear tech support says they only support standard 102 key keyboards, and a basic wheel mouse, wtf??

for the money i settled on the iogear gc1782.setup was somewhat of a pia, it wouldn't find second pc then it would loose connection to the first pc.

ie usb 2.0keyboard emulation cannot be turned off because of the hardwired hotkey switching embeded in it.which brings me to my major complaint: iogear use's version 1.0 or 1.1 usb for their kb/mouse

but no information on where to download it, and it's not posted on iogear's website either.

needs to be a bit longer for my application pc's about 3 1/2 feet apart other thoughts: overall very good product as usual from iogear and great price right now!

i tried the competing belkin model (f1dg102d) and, while about $30 more expensive, it works well (though it does use a power adapter, while the iogear does not).

combine this with iogear 2-port usb 2.0 printer auto sharing switch and you have a very good and cheap kvmp switch.

older iogear kvm switches would allow "scroll lock>scroll lock" without the need to press "enter".
