I hook up my laptop to my HD TV in my living room and with this pair its so easy to control virtually any function on my PC. The only exception is Dell's proprietary Fn button (it does not sync with Logitech's Fn button which serves another purpose). But everything else is customizable, only caveat is that Logitech doesn't really provide instructions on how to do much of the programming. from Amazon.com The only problem I had was after a large Vista update. The keyboard quit connecting. So finally I re-installed the Logitech software, and it's been working fine. I blame it on the acceleration curve that the software uses. Windows XP's mouse control panel can override Logitech's, but it can be glitchy when Windows get confused on which program dominates.
