I've used The Evoluent vertical mouse for a year, which is probably six months longer than I should have. I found it comfortable initially because the grasp design does reduce pronation.

The muscle between my thumb and forefinger hurts sometimes now, but at least it's not the tendons in my wrist and forearm. The pain was totally gone a week or two after beginning to use this mouse. Though more than I wanted to spend on a mouse, it serves its purpose and is probably a bargain for the R&D costs involved on Evoluent's end.

After a few hours of using this product, I am somewhat disappointed with it. As others have mentioned, it's not as comfortable to use as advertised. Your hand is still tilted a few more degrees to the left than it should be for it to be truly neutral. Thus, the top of my hand still gets sore while using this mouse (not quite as bad as my Logitech horizontal/ergonomic mouse, though).

This pad is mounted on a thin hard piece of plastic and it was that plastic that was crumbling. The remnants of that part were affecting the function of the RMB. I contacted Evoluent, they asked for the serial number and some pictures, they asked me to send the mouse back and within a week I had a new mouse. It would have been nice to just get a new one without returning the old, but I understand the issues with that type of service.

I bought the hype and purchased an Evoluent VerticalMouse3 Rev 2 and used it for a week, increasingly noticing the soreness in my wrist and thumb. I paid attention to my arm position, but I found that I couldn't move the mouse without straining my wrist.

After suffering from repetitive Motion Pain, for over 8 months, this mouse relieved the pain immediately. I have fairly tiny hands and it still works, with little stress on wrist or metacarpals.

I use computers for most of the day, but I don't use the mouse too much. I'm a programmer, not a graphic artist.
From my perspective, this is a very comfortable mouse that is easy on the hands even for long periods. Along with a Microsoft Natural Keyboard my wrist problems have vanished.

I developed wrist issues only last year after 10 years of work, but the pain was enough to prompt me to search out alternate mice. I purchased 5 alternate mice, but none of them offered any pain relief. I was beginning to have serious concerns about being able to continue working when I ordered the Evoluent 3. It gave me instant relief from the pain the moment I started to use it.

That's because there's a third, hidden under one of the small white circles. It's the one that most forms a triangle with the other two (logical, eh?). I'd tried removing one of the other 3 white circles--wrong door. And when you remove it, use a very tiny or flat screw driver, because it's likely to scratch and wrinkle, so it won't be smooth when you try to replace it afterward.
