service rating:excellenti bought the product first at a local store, but it was not the model that i wanted and was advised by the store that there was not a higher numbered model.
it's larger than my old iron making it less easy to store.
spent a little less for a "box store" iron and returned it after one use.
this iron wasn't available in any local stores near me and so i got it from amazon.
i purchased a cheaper model b&d iron in a department store but i had to return it because it leaked water all over my clothes.
i couldn't even find a cordless iron in any of the stores.
the base stays put on the ironing board and is stable, the retractable cord for the base is stored out of the way in the base.
this is a great iron..i got it mainly because of the cordless function...yes ..havin no cord to maneuver helps....but really not that big a difference as i do have to keep reheating it on the warming
i do store my iron upright and i put bottled drinking water in it, not distilled water, which is not recommended by rowenta.
i nicknamed this iron the, "wonder iron", because you wonder where your ironing went when using it - it is that much faster than your conventional off the shelf irons in the discount stores!!
so, that was a sign from god obviously, right?, so i went to some store with a lot of appliances and stuff to find me a new iron.
i was so glad to find this product, because i haven't been able to find it in the stores.
i looked in every store imaginable trying to find something to clean it and could not find anything worthy of this mess.
another feature that i like is the storage strip indicator, because it lets you know when the iron has cooled down enough to store.
i was also looking for an auto-shut-off feature, and had purchased another iron locally in a different store and had to return it the same week because it stuck to everything.
i bought one in the store, gave it to my daughter, and then bought myself 2 more so i'd have a back-up iron if this one ever stops working -- or i can give the second one as a gift to someone who
this is great for those of us who can't remember if we turned the appliances off.the cord retracts nicely and makes it easy to store.i have used it daily for over a year now and it has held up great.
stores well & heats wonderfully to make ironing easy & convenient!
i looked for an iron all over the different retail stores and found nothing impressive.
i searched every store in town and couldn't find an iron without the auto shutoff.
i tried a different shark from a local store and you could not even use the steam unless the iron was on the hottest setting and it claimed to be a "professional" model.
it takes care of any wrinkles in my pants, and it's fast to heat up and cool off to store, to make ironing easy before classes.
i'm so happy since i purchased this garment steamer; it helps me iron the things in half of its time, it dwindled all my things that i used to take to dry cleaners stores, which i now do on my own.
it's sturdier than the ones i've seen in stores, heats up quickly.
i'm never going to just choose one off the store shelf again.
if you are looking for something easy to use, store or travel with and for rather delicate clothes, this is perfect !
-easy to store
i can't tell you the frustration i felt with the cheapie ironing boards from local stores.
the second board arrived defective as well - the hook that is supposed to hold the board together so it doesn't open, doesn't work, so the board is always half open and impossible to store.
the cover is the standard metallic like cover with a thin padding underneath and works well.i know some folks like a thick padding, for me it is a matter of what does the job and this one does the
the only little problem...because of its strange shape, it is very difficult to store it, hanging on a support close to the ironing table as we did with our previous iron.
great iron with tons of steam but it was just a bit too wide to store in my drop down ironing board set inside my wall!
i got tired of buying cheap irons at the big name discount stores because they became defective in 1 or 2 years being manufactured with inferior materials.
i have gone from owning dime store irons, to department store irons; and now this, the cadillac of irons!
i unplugged it and ironed another 5 minutes on the stored up heat.
