i have no complaints about this iron- it heats up very quickly and has an automatic shut-off.
it does power off automatically; however, there's a red light that stays on despite that the iron is off - perhaps as a reminder that the iron is still plugged in.
this is really a great iron....lots of steam when needed and auto shut off makes "forgetting" not such a big deal....i've had irons that i paid almost 3times the price that didn't work half as well
