The VoSKY Call center by Actiontec looks like a great product and idea, and I think it is in principal but the implementation is not quite there yet in my opinion. The supplied software was out of date and the upgrade on the website was not at all clear and has bugs. from Walmart.com I have been using Call center for almost 8 months with very good results: great audio quality and easy to use. If I had problems , most of the time it was generated by Skype (drop calls, etc). from Buy.com Long story short - latest Skype version is 3.5. This box does not work on v.3 or above. After fighting it for several hours I finally went to the blog on the Actiontec website and saw that other people had the same problem - and lo' and behold, there was a link there to download v2.5 of Skype. Once I did that everything went fine. from Buy.com Bought this vosky a couple of years ago. And since now I do not have a phone line yet, I was thinking to use Skype outgoing and buy a call-in number. from Amazon.com When my wife speaks during calls, the harmonics of her voice, for some reason, triggers the nearest touch tone to be auto-generated and injected into the call by some circuit in the Vosky box, causing the people we talk to to believe we are recording calls. This is very annoying and distracting! from Amazon.com When I tried looking for Skype to Phone connectors there were not that many products available and no reviews so I just went with the most expensive one. Sadly it used to drop calls after 10 minutes without any explanation. from Amazon.com VoSKY Call Center looks good on paper, but the software is extremely bad and the product is almost unsupported by Actiontec. Software bugs make it so that I can use skype when this product is installed less than 5% of the time, so installing this makes skype essentially useless. from Amazon.com The idea of being able to tie skype into your basic telephone network was very appealing to me and so I bought the VoSKY call center. I worked fine at first but after about a week kept requiring me to restart the software every few days. from Amazon.com All the 5 star reviews make me wonder - some of the reviewers have written just one review - for this product and that is it. Many of them have purchased multiple units too!! Are at least some of them - working for Actiontec? There is a reason it is going for that cheap with all the rebates and stuff - and that is - you will have more than a hard time to get it to work. from Amazon.com I won't go over them again, what I will add is this... Despite the quality and well thought out product there are two flaws: 1) The call quality on Skype Out calls is not good. There is a big enough lag to make it unusable for these type of calls. from Amazon.com
