it eliminated the ground loop noise I had in my direct connection to the sound card and the SW is great for recording vinyl. I cut my time to do an album by about 30%. On top of it all, this software contains no means for removing pops and clicks from records or tapes as my old Pinnacle/Steinberg software did. But with Instant Music I had some serious feedback issues, and ADS support was basically non-existant! I saw the INport product here on Amazon and figured I would give it a shot. The INport product works great! from Amazon.com will NOT be able to hear your live LINE IN unless you do what I did, which is get 2 RCA "Y" adapters to plug into the RCA side of the INport. You run a couple of RCA lines from the from Amazon.com We tried to connect the Inport to a Dell Dimension running Windows Millenium. It took a day to learn that the software patch needed by Millenium was not listed on the Microsoft web site, but that Microsoft will send it to you as an email attachment if you speak with a human. from Amazon.com
