When I realized Canopus and Grass Valley were one-and-the-same, I knew I had chosen a good product (I have used Grass Valley equipment in TV studios.). Pure hardware (on-chip) conversion; works with any of my video editing software. from Tigerdirect.com I have a Mini-DV/VHS combo deck that for the longest time I couldn't get to work. Ever since I purchased this product I have been able to make use of my deck that was just collecting dust for the past months. I have used the Canopus converter to capture mini-dv, vhs, and dvd.
