I had a little difficulty at first when I installed the software. I couldn't get the remote to work on my pc. After contacting Hauppauge about my issue, they responded rapidly and provided a solution which enabled me to get everything working immediately! from Amazon.com The cons: I first installed this card on system with a Quad Core, 4 GB's RAM, and Geforce 9500 video card. The screen would flash constantly. from Amazon.com This TV card works absolutely fine with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Even the 2008 installation disc that came with it containing the 4.6a+ driver worked fine, without any driver update from the Hauppauge website. But I would echo what others have said: Only after installing the newer drivers from Happauge's Web site. Upon initial install, the unit offered only herky-jerky, unwatchable video. The new driver took care of that. from Amazon.com When viewing analog channels there are brightness, contrast, color saturation and tint controls but they are absent when viewing digital channels. Also, when recording HDTV programs off the air the WinTV program creates MPEG files that won't play back in anything besides WinTV! The problem with playing it in WinTV is the lack of features and there is no way to de-interlace the video so it looks good and the video is jumpy and the sound tends to stutter. Isn't MPEG supposed to be a standard? from Amazon.com I'm not experienced using Vista Media Center, but I haven't had any problems using it with this TV Tuner board. The remote works surprisingly well with such a small remote sensor to receive the IR signal. Being able to use a small PCIE slot is great since I can still add another video board to my system with a full lenght PCIE slot still unused. I followed the directions and updated the firmware with no luck. I am waiting to hear back from Hauppauge about what may be wrong. If you are thinking about getting this, be sure to select the version that has a remote included. The only difference between the two versions is the extra remote and a S-Video to Composite adapter to make up for the Composite input port you are giving up for the remote input port.
