I've been using two commonly recognized panini makers - I won't mention names - neither of which have temperature controls, on-off switches, or removable platens for cleaning; the Sensio has allSensio 13121 Bella Cucina Stainless-Steel Electric Grill and Griddle of these features. I can chose between a griddle and a grill setting, and then decide which temperature I want for that setting. from Amazon.com i found it easy to use, loved the adjustable temperature controls and liked the fact the grills are so easy to change or remove to clean. from Amazon.com it does all that it says and is a breeze to clean. from Amazon.com it cooks perfectly due to the ability to adjust the temperature. from Amazon.com i used this grill 5 times and the labels on the temperature controls are already gone. from Amazon.com i called the company and they told me the warranty was up so they will not replace or repair it. from Amazon.com DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! I got it for Christmas in '08 & used it about 8 - 10 times. from Amazon.com First of all the "GRILL" side (far right button) stopped working, BUT the "GRIDDLE" side (far left button) did work electrically and worked well so I kept it. (After all it had two separate outside left and right buttons that were separate heat sources working independently of each other -- a very good plus.) After using for a couple of months, I was frying bacon which it cooked well; however, after removing the final cooked bacon, the back left joint connecting the bottom of the grill to the cover SHATTERED and the entire top fell off completely. from Amazon.com I absolutely love this grill/griddle.
