In searching for information on the BroilKing griddles, I called their customer service line. Basically all of the cooking units (griddle itself) are identical between the Professional, Ultra and 550 models. from Amazon.com The high-tech commercial cooking surface began to come off at the third use of this griddle. I don't know what Evenheat means in their product description, but this griddle has a hot spot on the left side. I'm in the market for a new griddle, but I won't buy anything labeled Broilking again. from Amazon.com it's got a wonderfully large cook area and is very easy to clean. from Cooking.com it is quick to heat up and the entire grilling surface is the same temperature. from Cooking.com the item is a little costly, but the features made it an easy choice. from Cooking.com this one is built stronger and is much more sturdy than the rest. from Cooking.com the griddle maintains an even temperature; no hot spots. from Cooking.com it's easy to clean. from Amazon.com it's really easy to clean. from Amazon.com given the price difference, it seems the ultra model is best as the handles on the 550 series are pretty flimsy. from Amazon.com
