Its quite large and sturdy. The plates do rattle a little bit but I've noticed a similar finding on the george foreman (GF) grills. This grill can also be flipped completely open and used as two side-by-side grills for large meals. I haven't used it in this mode yet and I'm sure it wouldnt be as effective as the dual sided grilling experience. from Buy.com We started using this grill after my husband and I both had a heart attack and had to change our menu. Grilling removes a lot of fat and you can grill a chicken breast without a bone in less than ten minutes. We have gone through two of these in the last four years and we like the Hamilton Beach the best. The warranty is for one year and all you have to do is call them if you have a problem and cut the electric cord off and send it to them and they send you another exact item. from Amazon.com The most serious issue, and why you SHOULD NOT BUY THIS GRILL: The non-stick Teflon coating on the grill plates is not properly applied. The Teflon coating has very poor adhesion to the grill plates, and the Teflon on my grill (bought a year ago) started coming off only a month after I bought the grill. Hamilton Beach refused to replace the grill plates since I consider the Teflon coating process to be grossly defective, but HB happily quoted a replacement price for the grill plates which was $5 less than what I paid for the entire grill.
