I wanted a more conventional type indoor grill. I searched the web and decided on the DeLonghi Perfecto. I bought it mostly for grilling steaks and am very pleased with it's performance. from Cooking.com We can't have grills on our apartment deck so this is a fantastic alternative. I first looked at the Crate & Barrel model by DeLonghi, but ended up here with a much cheaper and in my opinion, better model. It is a bit of a pain to clean, but a nice non-stick safe sponge/scrubber should get you on your way. My wife said she was definitely impressed with the flavor of the food (and she's my number one skeptic!) I'm a big outdoor griller in the spring/summer/fall so charcoal or propane outdoor grills are the way to go during grilling season but while it's cold out, I'll just stick to the Delonghi. In desperation I bought the DeLonghi grill. I've lived with it for about 6 weeks and my conclusion is: IT SUCKS!!!! from Amazon.com After preheating the suggested length of time, a 3/4" Delmonico steak took 10 minutes per side to cook to a medium rare stage, leaving only faint grill marks. Hamburgers turned out the same. I called Delonghi customer service and they were not at all helpful.
