CONS *Very small 1q container makes small batches of ice cream *Included recipe book is VERY VERY poor; the recipe for custard base was nearly inedible, frozen margarita was the worst I have ever had. from Amazon.com I had to reset the unit every five minutes so the rotor could blend the ice cream base. It took about 2 hours to notice a slightly frozen cream. Each and every component of this Lello machine is cheap and most likely this is the worst product I ever purchased (till today). If you are serious about getting an ice cream machine, stay away from Lello. from Amazon.com It still works perfectly and produces great ice cream at half the calories of the premium stuff because I use mostly 2% milk. Mine is an older model that still says Simac on the side, but looks the same. I use Junket mix as my base (the vanilla is available in most grocery stores), add 1 3/4 cup of milk and 1/4 cup of heavy cream and mix it directly in the removable pail with a stick blender, which takes less than 2 minutes.
