the only problem with this humidifier is that within two weeks the motor starting making a pulsating sound when on the first two speeds.

i would give it 5-stars, but i find the fan a bit noisy on the two higher settings.

top speed is too noisy for a sleeping or living area, but this puts out plenty of moisture and it is very unlikely that you will want the top speed setting.

fan settings on 3 and 4 are loud, more than just background noise - i keep mine on 2 and it isn't bad.
