we have another small humidifier upstairs in the master bedroom.
has quiet setting for night time, but i keep it on the normal setting all the time and it's not too noisy.
it holds a good capacity of water and is quiet and keeps moisture in the air without hot or cold steam coming out of the unit.
on low it is very quiet !
we run it on low, and it is very quiet.
it does all that while giving a quiet operation.
we rarely have to refill the water tank, it's super quiet when it runs and i like that it shows you the humidity level in your room.
it is also extremely silent.
this is the easiest humidifier i've used.
quiet, efficient, no filter, no mold.
run it at night to help me sleep need the moisture
the bottom line: i highly recommend the hcm645 because it is quiet, easy to use, efficient and has a large capacity.
powerful machine - not very quiet on med or high setting, but to moisten a dry winter house, this is a winner.
easy to use and maintain.
i bought a model 640 the same day, this one is larger but i prefer the 640 due to the noise level, which is not terrible, but noticeable.
i purchased this product for my newborn's room so it had to be quiet.

a previous customer had posted a comment that, among other things, it was very quiet.
our doctor recommended a humidifier so i did some research and decided to purchase the honeywell quietcare 3.0 gallon.
i own a house of around 1200 square feet, and this humidfier is large enough to keep the air comfortable in the winter, and cuts back on the static electricity, and my sleep is better.
my main complaints were noise (especially the boiling sound of the warm mist types), dirtiness after a few days of operation, and difficulty cleaning units.
pros: easy fill door, quiet, recirculating water, 3 speeds, i see water moving cons: filter needs replaced monthly but cheap.
no biggy, so i decided to used the unit.
cons: a bit loud, seems to need filling a lot even on the lowest setting (but very easy fill - can bring pitcher to it rather than drag tank to the sink and lug back), and above all, big and ugly -
the bottom line: this machine is easy to use, easy to clean, and it really does the job.
and if you are only using it in a nursery or small bedroom, get this one instead of the 4 gallon tank.
it is easy to keep sanatized since you can throw the dome and tray in the dishwasher and the humming noise helps my son sleep through the night.
i require "white noise" to sleep, so if you are among those of us who sleep with a fan running, you'll love the sound of this humidifier.
as far as sound goes...i don't know about other babies but my son has to have some kind of white noise or else he's waking up to just about anything, we keep it on the low setting and it works great.
it is also *extremely* quiet!
it does gurgle, but it is no louder than a vaporizer or other noises that normally occur in a house at night.
it runs out fairly quickly, but if the water tank were bigger it would probably be too heavy to carry for most people.
the gurgling of the boiling water is no worse than any other warm-mist humidifer.
as for the problems that the previous owners mentioned, all warm humidifiers gurgle due to the boiling water which to me is more preferable than the loud fan noise of the cool mist humidifiers.
it's very low maintenance: i've had 4 units now for several months (one in the master bedroom, one in each of the kids rooms, and one in my office) and the most i've had to do is wipe the base with a

first, the bright light is hardly "soothing." it would be good for a children's room where a night light was desired, but it's very bright for an adult's bedroom.
it is fabulous for a kids room and completely quiet.
when we were looking for a humidifier for our baby's room, our pediatrician recommended a quiet one.
otherwise, it's very quiet.
very quiet, except for the sound of water dripping, but it didn't keep me up at night.
my mission was to find a humidifier that i could leave on at night when i go to sleep (i'm a musician so i'm extremely sensitive to noise).
i ordered this unit after reading various reviews online, to replace an older honeywell humidifier in my children's room.
it is too quiet!
looks cute, compact and easy to clean (it even has a tiny cleaning brush attached to the base unit).
it's easy to fill, maintain and takes up very little space.
one review states it is too noisy for a bedroom and this unit is designed for a 650 sq.
it capably humidifies my small condo from a central location, helping my hubby's eczema and my sinuses.
ft., so yes this may be a little noisy for a small bedroom.
this unit should have had clamps installed on the side of the water tank, attaching the base to the water tank, for ease of moving the unit with the water tank handle.
pros: moderately quiet

medium noise-level.
whisper quiet fan?
there are three levels of vapor output, and a sleep mode that reduces the sound it produces (but it's quiet to begin with).
it is also 100% quiet, it is the only one that i don't need to switch off at night!
the air-o-swiss on the other hands are constantly indicating need for cleaning, one is constantly causing troubles (noisy, not running at all or both), if the tank needs to be refilled they are hard
i will say as well that this is a much quieter unit than any prior humidifier i've owned.

over the past few years i have used a humidifier in my bedroom at night.
i don't have a whole house humidifier so i have enjoyed using this in my bedroom during the winter months.
it is very quiet on the low and medium settings and just loud enough on high to provide some white noise to help me sleep.
i use to wake in the night with the 'ol death valley mouth, but now with this purchase my apartment has moisture in the air and i sleep much better.
extremely quiet and does not leave a mist all over the carpet of hard wood floors.
the bottom line: excellent humidifier especially if it is for a newborn.

silent operation.
the controls are easy to use.
my granddaughter visited me recently and slept in a room with this humidifier in it and never had a better night's sleep.
the bottom line: it's easy to use, effective, and doesnt take any time to maintain.
short of installing a dedicated humidifier unit onto a central hvac duct, these are the cleanest, most energy efficient humidifiers available.
make sure you install the drip pan properly and you must run the unit at high speed for at least 90 seconds each time it is turned on to prime the pump.
with small children i have been through a couple humidifiers, and i have to say this one really is the best so far.
super easy to use & clean.
i also like that it has a "white noise" effect--which lulls the little one to sleep.
when my daughter was born, we got an ultrasonic humidifier.
during the winter, sleeping with the heater on at night, my children would suffer from dry sinsus.
somewhat noisy for a quiet mist, and it just blows air around the room, not a cool mist humidifier.
and this was on the quiet setting.
wonderful, easy to use unit.
pros: space saving design, quality of product, accuset cons: none the bottom line: if you are in the market for a humidifier, look no further.
not too noisy especially on low settings.
the diaphragms both rotted out after two seasons, making the tanks pour water out all over the floor when you turn them over to install them.
basically a great product, this unit is small, but powerful.
set on high, it is still quiet and i am a very light sleeper.
anywho, this one is in my kids' room and i keep it at a low setting and it gives off this soft hum that actually drowns out other home noises.
i'm a 6'0" tall manly man so i don't really have an issue lugging it about, but i can see where some sweet little old ladies, small children with fumbly fingers, and diminutive pets might have
it it almost quiet (but noisy enough to keep me awake if it's not in the hall just outside my bedroom.
this humidifier is extremely quiet.
it seemed a bit loud at first but on the low setting i fall asleep easily with the noise and i am a light sleeper.
also is a bit noisy.
i think the way this model is configured is very user friendly and easy to set up and take apart.
i think it would work better if we could keep it at high but we can't sleep with it being so loud.
Be warned, this is a very poorly designed product.
