The big plus of this humidifier is its silent mode. Since its dificult to find another humidifier which works silentely I decided to buy this one. My advice is to look better and maybe find another silent one since I can't really recommend this one or AIR-O-SWISS in general. If silent operation is not a must, then there are many humidifiers that are much better than this one (by Vortex for examaple). from Amazon.com I was really glad to have found this, even threw away our old humidifier that wasn't so great once I saw how wonderful it was. Then, exactly one week later, it simply quit producing mist. The customer service reps at Air-o-Swiss seemed hellbent on blaming me, making me waste a lot of time on the phone with them performing their stupid "fixes" (and, frustratingly, making me repeat the same ones every time I spoke to someone new). Now I get to mail it back to them with my own money (post office lines at holiday time - fun!) and do without until they get around to mailing one back. from Amazon.com I bought this unit because of the humidity controls: I t is supposed to read the room Relative Humidity, and humidify it according to your setting. Nice idea on paper. This is my 2nd unit in a row and it seems that 7135 Air-o-Swiss is equipped with the very worst Hygrometers ever: When the humidity is 50% in my room , it reads only 40% so it will keep pumping steam until the room gets way too humid. The first unit I bought was about 10/15% inaccurate, the second one from Amazon.com I've used cheaper ultrasonic humidifiers before,but now I'm sorry I didn't start with the Air-O-Swiss.
