i've only had one in the past that i bought when my daughter had a cold, but i really disliked it {it was the vicks 1.2 gal cool mist humidifier - still for sale at target}. from Target.com my flu went away in days. from Target.com i don't use it all the time because i run a cool mist unit to maintain a comfortable level in my apartment but when i am sick and want some extra moisture (cool mist units can't get the level too from Target.com i use it when my kids start to get a cold and it keeps their room nice and warm they are usually over it in a couple of days. from Target.com pros: works great for illness, inexpensive, easier to upkeep than cool mist from Shopping.com pros: works fast and is quiet. from Shopping.com anyway, when my 3-year-old daughter woke up with a terrible cough this morning after having a cold all week, i came to target.com to check out the selection and actually chose this particular one from Target.com pros: works fast and is quiet. from Shopping.com humidifies my dorm room when i'm sick so i don't wake up with a sore throat. from Amazon.com since she is too young to clear the mucus that keeps her from sleeping peacefully at night the vaporizer helps her tremendously. from Amazon.com
