The Slant/Fin GF-211D is now the Enviracaire EWM-211D. That is what they said, but I have the Enviracaire unit and it is great....this is junk. from Amazon.com This is our second (i think) winter using this humidifier. One of the reasons I chose this model was for the digital hygrometer. This feature stopped working after a time (not sure at this point if it was a month or just a little more). from Amazon.com I'm overall pleased with this product. I own 2 and I'm about to order 2 more. I dont understand why many reviews say it is loud, I don't find that to be the case at all. I try to clean it once a week. There is quite a bit of mineral build-up on it at this point, but since I've owned this unit for 5+ years, I'm not all that surprised; and it doesn't seem to make the humidifier any less effective. Most of it can be scrubbed away with a toothbrush, especially the build-up (what I think some people are calling "corrosion"?) on the sensors. from Amazon.com I have never written a review for a product but because this humidifier has been such a huge disappointment and waste of money I feel compelled to warn others. I first bought one in January of 2006. from Amazon.com I've had mine for a couple of months and just ordered a second one for my parents. I use mine to humidify my entire house - about 1200 to 1500 square feet. This means that you don't need to have this unit in the same room that you are in to feel its effects, which would obviously diminish or eliminate the noise issue.
