my expectations, i can say this because i own a 1080i hd tv with a 1080i upconvert dvd player and one can see the difference in picture quality with the sony 1080p upconvert dvd home theater system.

the sound is quite good for a sub $300 system, the dvd player with up-conversion is great, and the unit has just enough flexibility through the extra inputs and wireless add-on options to be useable
