i decided it was time to get a real system for my bluerays.
what's great about it:?ease of setup, connectivity, features, sound quality.
my monitor is a 50", 720p, 600hz, panasonic plasma.) you might want to save your money.one of my fave features is the yamaha calibration routine with the supplied microphone.
sound quality is great.
sound quality is excellent in my small 24x17 room with 5.1 setup using mix-matched bose speakers.
it's much betten than the overrated bose systems, and 7.1 thx beats any movie theater.
i recently added this product to my living room for my sony 52xbr5 and ps3.
it's 7.1 but there are very few sources that come native with 7.1 audio, ps3 being an exception.
after placing it in my family room i positioned the speakers and ran the auto configuration process.
but for just plugging it in and going i am really impressed at the sound quality.
what's great about it:?easy to set up and sounds great what's not so great:?nothing so far "i have been researching hd sound since i purchased a bluray player last october.
easy to set up for my tivo and xbox 360.
"just hooked this up to my blu-ray and hd fios with deftech pro cinema 600 speakers and all i can say is wow!
have it hooked up to dish network hd dvr and ps3 through hdmi and hooked the ps2 audio through one of the av ports.
i used the mic to auto-calibrate the sound quality - very easy (do this before using it).
the sound quality of this product is great, especially for an under $300.00 system.
i recommend this product if you have a blu ray player, because it is made to decode blue-ray sound encryption automatically.
i play xbox 360 on this system and really appreciate the small nuances i get from the background...like in bioshock which scared me even when i was expecting it.
i love the fact that it has 3 hdmi inputs so i can run my verizonfios hd, playstation 3 and dvd player all through one system with less wires.
since sony won the battle of hd disc with blu-ray and has economically introduced a blu-ray player included in the playstation 3 (still the best buy) it makes sense for sony to complete the a/v
which have extremely undersized speakers.over all this is a good product that will get closer to a movie theater experience.
it:?sounds very clean for a 2 piece system what's not so great:?dont expect a true surrond sound or a lot of bass "i was looking for a simple and cheap way to improve my sound for my samsung lcd.
this is a great little system if you live in a small space or plan on putting it in a small room.
what's great about it:?very easy to set up "this is an excellent system for a small room.
what's great about it:?no cords, looks good/ blends in what's not so great:?volume level "this is good alternative for a small space...no cords to hassel with it looks good and blends right in.of
wanted a system i could experience the full pleasure of my 50 in.dlp & playstation/blu ray, still trying to get it to work together as a unit, i was told it was a matter of hooking a couple of hdmi
makes it sound and feel like you are at the movie theater.
i was extremely disappointed in the overall sound quality!
i bought this system in hopes it would satisdfy all my needs and it does all of that.we really enjoy the sound quality and the ease of operation.
there was no conflict with the router, phones, playstation 3, and it all soundsgreat.
it plays excellent with my phillips 42 lcd.
if sound is good, it plays very good, same like in movie theater.
i bought this unit to replace my aging home theater system and also take advantage of the capabilities of the hd tv i already own.
the sound quality, while watching dvds (with sixteen speakers i should not have been surprised) that i have yet to be able to watch a movie at half volume without the fear of disturbing my neighbors.
now when i plug it in it makes a loud buzzing sound and the lcd screen does not light up...
After about 6 months of painstaking research I finally made a decision and purchased this ht-s7100.
After searching extensively for a home theather system that would have the best bang for the buck, I decided on the Onkyo S7000 7.1 system.
All in all I would have to say this is a great entry level home theater system.
Bought the S7100 on 2/4 and received on 2/6 with Prime 2-day shipping.
Easy to setup.
ever since i purchased the product and have been watching movies and television shows through it, i have felt like i'm at the theaters, only missing the popcorn!
this is not for your main home theater system if it is in a large room but a bedroom it is perfect!!
overall, i am very happy with this system and would recommend it to anyone looking for powerful performance playing your movies and listening to ipod in a small package.
design, function, portability are all incredible on this unit, but the sacrifice is in sound quality.
i received the sony dav-is10 home theater system free when i purhcased my sony 46' lcd tv.
we've had the system for about two weeks, and at this point, we would recommend it for use in a long or small room--not sure how it would work in a large, square room.
there may be a better way of doing this, but i haven't found it.but i really like the sound quality when you get the volume right (although i rarely get it past 5 or 6 and it goes much higher than
still sounds great.i installed the soundbar in my bedroom and have already used it with my ps3.
beautiful design and standard dvd upsacle to 1080 is great on the plasma.cons - it wasn't very easy to wall mount especially with the wires in the back...however it was totally worth it.
my husband had trouble with our new plasma tv and getting it to work with the sound bar....but needless to say i figured it out and it sounds great!
Arrived on time and the sound is wonderfull.
Bought this to pair with a 52" Sony Bravia LCD TV and couldn't be happier.
Got this system a couple days ago, and it just blows me away.
I am very pleased with the end result of combining my home theater with my recently purchased sony bravia TV.
I chose this system as an economical surround solution for a second living area.
the music came alive...wow what graat sound.the other thing that i do not like is the lcd display that stays lit even when the system is off.
the lcd is very bright, which can be distracting.
i figured sound quality would be just fine because...
the exterior has a bluish-purple lcd display which is not dimmable and has a digital clock which does not keep accurate time as it is not locked to the 60hz line frequency.
i like the sound quality of the radio, even regular non-hd fm stations sound better than my previous jvc desktop audio system.
the system sounds and looks great.i have had some troubles with set up with comcast hdtv box, ps3 and wii.
the bose v-30 will exceed your expectations in home audio especially when tied into a nice big screen plasma or lcd tv.
i also have sent the cd sound to my marantz pm8003 stereo system in my family room and to an ihome radio cube speaker system in my bedroom.
besides the sound quality that blew my ears and head off, it has hdmi inputs, can you believe it?
movies sound like in the cinema and music like you are there, the sound is crystal clear and you can hear it from every direction doesn't matter where you stay.
the setup was fairly easy i was watching my first blue ray within 30 minutes.visually the speakers are sleekand powerful, the sub woofer is easily hidden (either way it is not very noticable) the
received shipment and connect it to my panasonic 58" plasma tv.
the price is a little steep but i would have to say that if you like great sound with your movies it is worth it.
suggest matching up with the viera plasma.
sound quality with relatively small speakersblu ray
they call the 1/4 inch jack an auxilary so you need to use a separate box if you want to use it for both gaming and tv, all in all, this system really defines home theatre cause it sounds like youre
anyways i purchased the system, and was pretty happy after i figured out how to hook everything up.not that it was difficult, but i wanted to hook up my playstation 3, my cable, and the actual home
i have a cable box and ps3 connected to my tv as well both via hdmi and i'm getting awesome sound from them with this product.
i wanted this product not just for watching movies, but also for using the xm radio feature on my direct tv.
i bought it to replace my old system and the sound quality is much better.
took more time to get the box out to the garage and pick up the plastic than it did to connect to my samsung 52 ' lcd and kick off top gun...
the sound quality out of the unit in amazing....and the fact is, it gave me the ease of haveing an up-conversion dvd, and a wirless sub-woffer.
just picked it up today and watched two movies.
i am in a small apartment and did not want to deal with a receiver and running wires all over the room.
we have an older 42" samsung plasma and the system pairs nicely with it.
There isn't much coverage on the home theater review sites for HTIBs which forces consumers to rely on anecdotal evidence before buying, but for around $400 you won't do better for a complete system such as this.
Everything works fine, looks cool.
Its that Yamaha and so many others offer so many types of speaker systems, its hard to get a share of the buyer market, so price lowering happens to find that point where a buy takes place, (Like me).
I searched around and read lots of reviews on numerous different home theater systems in the box and this is the one I ended up purchasing.
If you look at the other review for this product (the five star one) you'll see that it's from a fictional character in a Seinfeld episode.
hook up but i have some electronics backround.this system work fine right off the bat .no problems with hdmi thru.i hooked it up thru my ps3 and setupmy hdmi settings on the ps3.it works fantastic.
i set up this home theater system and connected my ps3 and it works great sounds super good, nice deep base to it.
how nice would it look to have everything matching in a nice high gloss black finish.(dlp tv--surround sound--playstation 3 & tv stand) so when i got it home and hooked it up i was blown away on how
i am also pleased to know that when i get the hddvd/blue ray that it has the capability to hook into this thing, as well as a new gaming system.
highly recommended.excellent surround sound system with sam ln46a750 lcd tv and sam bdp1500 blue ray player.it really makes a tremendous difference when viewing movies/tv.my wife was sceptical at

i bought this system primarily for surround sound for the nintendo wii, but also for a second home theater for the kids.
other than these two minor design issues this unit sounds great with both movies and music mode and the dvd setup matches any new lcd widescreen like a champ!
i have a large family room and no easy way to run the rear ...
I had a little trouble getting my wireless network to connect at first but LG customer support was extremely helpful and now the system works smoothly.
great sound for low price!!
I bought this system 2 weeks ago.
the base on this system will definately rock your house, you can change the db level on each speaker individually though, firmware was recently updated and the player now offers Bluray Movies, Pics & Music via USB, Netflix streaming movies, cinemanow, pandora internet radio, & youtube.
This is a great system.
