It took no time for me to set this up. I would recommend also getting the HDMI cables as well. One of the speakers didn't function and had to be replaced but other than that it has been working great. I have an older Philips TV (non digital) and my laptop (for music, movies etc) hooked up to it and so far so good. First, the "Quick Start" guide tells you everything you need to know to set up the entire unit and get it operational. The Quick Start Guide covers both the HTS3565D unit (standard speaker design) and the HTS3566D which has surround sound towers. The English portion of the guide covers a total of four pages. from Amazon.com Philips sent me this model (HTS3566D) after the old model (HTS3555) I had was having problems. The old system would not sync the audio with the video. from Amazon.com Aux inputs? No sound. I updated the firmware to the latest version (didn't help) and then called philips customer service (didn't help).
