it sounds very dynamic, i thought a couple times the surround speakers were on and they were not. the tuner is good and the remote is easy to operate. i'm not saying this is the best surround system, but for the money, it is a very good value and i recommend this unit to anyone. from Amazon.com I purchased this sound system for my 16 year old for his birthday. I wanted a system that wouldn't break the bank, had a recognizable manufacturer's name (who also had a reputation), and would satisfy what he imagined a surround system would be (or do). from Amazon.com Eventually it would not be able to read any DVD at all. And this was after only one month! Maybe my unit is a lemon but I called the JVC service center and they told me of two authorized repair centers.
