Having this information beforehand made the installation pretty straightforward and painless. Although I'm not an audiophile, I've had my share of Home and autosound systems namely JVC and Pioneer. This Philips HTIB although lacking a manual EQ comes packed with power and a handful of preset sound modes that push out tunes very similar to pricier set upsYes the speaker wires are thin but I don't believe it would make a discernible difference if the were any thicker. The lengths of the speaker wires may be questionable but for my set up in a 12 X 15 room the length of wire feels about right. from Circuitcity.com Only two cons, and I won't ding the rating for them: The DVD drawer takes for-ev-er to open, and for some reason there is no headphone jack. I have outdoor wireless speakers with a transmitter that plugs in the jack, but there is none to be found. Weird - why would Philips omit a 29-cent part?
