I bought this unit to go with my 50 inch Panasonic flat screen. I have the system in my living room.
What's great about it:?best price,ipod dockplays all disc types What's not so great:?vv poor surround sound "I bought this home theatre even after going through mixed reviews. But experienced v poor surround sound even after adjusting all its effects to be the best. It almost worked like 2.1 channel home theatre with useless surround speakers. Remote control doesnt work like your finger control for ipod when it sits in dock.
Love the new theater system. Had a previous Panasonic model that finally burned out and this one has much better surround sound and speaker quality. Very user friendly.
Purchased this system and I am satisfied with it. Only problem is that I don't get much sound coming from the surround speakers but that is ok as the system sounds good anyway. Works great with my Panasonic plasma.
It is as close to Plug & Play as a unit can get. Although itstill requires some basic menu set up for the volume output it is fairly straightforward. Panasonic positioned this item right square in the middle of the average consumer. From beginner to intermediate you will be pleased with this purchase.
My RCA (of similar price) croaked and I was urged to replace it with a Panasonic. What a letdown.
I purchased this HT yesterday to compliment a new Panasonic 42' plasma 1080p TV. Both are set up in a small (10 x 12 ), but vert acousticly live room.
I was a little sceptical when I purchsed SCPT650. When I hooked it up to my Plasma 50 Inch TV the result was phenominal.
I picked up the 650 for $80 bucks ~ sick huh? :D
The SC-PT650 system's strengths are its high-resolution DVD up-conversion, iPod Dock, and sound quality. My DVDs look great on my Panasonic TH-50PX75U HDTV, which doesn't even make full use of the DVD player's maximum 1080p up-conversion.
