The unit did not come back on until I removed the disk and went through the set up (15min) again because all the settings had been erased or lost. This happened consistantly with each DVD installed. Bose Tech support insisted the DVD's were bad but they worked just fine on my $300 TV/DVD combo. finially the unit was repaired and worked for about 2-3 months and it started all over again. from Crutchfield.com We bought the Bose Lifestyle 38 about a year ago, and it has been great, as well as easy to operate. The Bottom Line: For the money, it is the best system available (other than a custom design). Set-up is very simple; so simple, in fact, that the lack of an English-language installation guide book only slightly slowed down the process. (Apparently, many LS 38 sets meant for Europe were sent to US distributors, and the installation guide in these sets do not inlcude English-language instructions. Luckily, an English-language installation guide can be downloaded and printed from the Bose website.)
