no need for a subwoofer for full, rich sound. These speakers are awesome. I got the Boston Acoustics MSC 100 speakers for my main stereo/home theater. They also sound great but I didn't feel they filled up the 1000 sq feet that make up my main living area. from Crutchfield.com I was very surprised by these speakers, I could not tell at the store how they really sounded but when I took them home hooked them up to a HK new receiver with a Velodyne sub I did not like them right from the start I tried tweaking them still they didnot sound like a Boston speaker. they are known for quality but not with these I brought them back the next day and took a credit. from Circuitcity.com I have owned these speakers for a little over six months now and I am very pleased.
