It is especially significant in watching action adventure movies. It Booms when its required and stays quiet when its not. I haveit connected to a sony 5.1 receiver and a sony center speaker with bose side speakers. Im currently using a 61 inch samsung 1080p TV. from Circuitcity.com I purchased this Subwoofer yesterday and I'm quite impressed with the sound. It has Sony quality built right in. I'm a little concerned with one of the reviews I read about it lasting only two years however, (that was a different model altogether) the sound quality that I'm hearing tells me it is of good quality and the Sony name has been well tested by me and I have nothing bad to say. from Circuitcity.com Excelent Choice, those Sony speakers are great in combination with PC as signal source, and with a decent sound card. I have a NICE 42' Vizio HDTV with a Sony DVD and Sony Receiver...the last pair of speakers on my mind were these Sony speakers as Sony while their electronics are excellent, their speakers were always sub standard in sound quality (I own Infinity and Cerwin Vega Speakers) After hearing these speakers, I was VERY pleased with the sound quality to say the least...they were crisp and accurate the bass was pronounced and profound. Part of a set with SS-F5000's for mid surround, SS-F7000's for front, SA-W3000 sub and Sony SS series for rear surround and center which I already had. My old sub was just wore out and I wanted to hold out and get a good qaulity speaker no matter the cost. When I noticed the Sony I was sceptical of the low price, you know , you get what you pay for. After getting it hooked up however I was certain I made the right choice! from Circuitcity.com Cannot tell the difference from the more expensive Denon,Harmon Kardon,Panasonic,Polk,or even Bose and for this price thats saying something. I had a Bose system that was destroyed in the hurricanes a couple of years ago and replaced it with Sony components and my old Bose bookshelf and ceiling speakers and sounds the same to me. If I put the labels from the Bose on this subwoofer, Idon't think anyone would know. from Circuitcity.com And the price won't hurt your pocket either. $200.00 and some change you can be proud to know you spent so little for big, rich sound.
