I was looking for high quality speakers with a reasonable price tag. After lots of research, I stumbled upon these speakers. Initially, I was somewhat skeptical about these speakers (I had never heard of the name Mirage before). Nonetheless, I decided to go forward with my purchase and I must admit I was very pleasantly surprised. from Crutchfield.com What's great about it:?sound, size, style What's not so great:?I can't turn it to 30 b/c of neighbors "Listen...these are easily the best speakers you can buy for the size...they sound awesome and look awesome... I bought the 5 nanos and the 8" Mirage sub for $399 on sale in the winter..probably one of the best purchase's i have made.... I have a 9 channel (dual sub output) reciever...so my next purchase is a center channel, another sub, and one more nano for the 7 speaker sound...after that, I'll buy new windows from Bestbuy.com What's great about it:?For the price of the system, best value your money would buy What's not so great:???? They really sound great and fill my living room with sound. The base module is well matched to the speakers and provides plenty of bass and feeling for a surround sound system. I was looking for a system that I would be happy with for a long time because I don't like doing things twice; especially in a few years when I could spend a little more and be content later. I was tempted with Onkyo's HT-S7100 complete system because of the price and features but wanted smaller speakers. from Crutchfield.com I've only had these speakers for a day now so I will wait till their broken in to be more critical. I have heard many good speakers but these are special because of their ability to disappear and really create an immersive listening experience that you can't get from other speakers for this Price range. Mirage is a good brand from Bestbuy.com Considered Bose, but settled on this system with the Onkyo 707 receiver....on advice from Crutchfield. The requirement was to get the best sounding small speakers for a reasonable price, and maximum sound stage. from Amazon.com They can't work miracles and go as deep as bigger bookshelfs or floor standers but they sound sweet and much larger than the actual size. For 250...you can't go wrong. On a side note, I was shopping for a new 7.1 high end system for my basement and based my experience with the nanos, I bought the OMD series of mirage which will be disco'd and are on firesale wherever they are still available.
